AROLAB Organic, Premium Eco-Vegan Cosmetics, is conducting an online short video competition known as AROLAB STORIES AWARDS '21 - ASA '21. 

Participation in the Competition is subject to the following terms and conditions (the Rules). By entering into the competition, you agree to be bound by these Rules. If the contestant does not accept the Rules, he/she should immediately withdraw from the competition.


AROLAB Organic announces the first edition of the short video competition, AROLAB STORIES AWARDS '21 - ASA '21.  The video should not interfere with the brand's sustainability values and have to last between 45 and 54 seconds. Whether documentary, fiction, animation or a combination thereof - the decision about the film genre and the technical realization is left up to the contestants. 


The video should celebrate the beauty, uniqueness and value of all forms of life by showing how human beings are connected with everything around them because they belong to the same living system.

In other words, the awards aim to share the values promoted by AROLAB Organic with as many people as possible to help people reconnect, love, and respect all forms of life, rewarding creativity and promoting the arts as a form of universal communication.

The videos must not denounce or contain sexual or violent content towards any form of life, respecting ethnic, sexual, gender, religious believes, and cultural differences. The creations should convey all vegan values, such as love, empathy, and respect for all forms of life. The videos have to  promote only positive emotions and conscious behavior that unites beauty and ethics.

To learn more about the brand's values and the concept of its philanthropic luxury, the video’s authors should refer to:


  • The video clip must have been requested or created by a solo director (over 18 years of age) or by a group of directors.
  • In the case of being a work co-directed between several people, a single representative (over 18 years of age) must be designated among them as the recipient of the award and registered in the contest.
  • The video length may be last between 45 and 54 seconds.
  • Each contestant or group may submit a maximum of one proposal.
  • The contestant must complete and send the Application Form, that they will receive with the pre-registration (pre-register here).  Entries submitted without an Application Form will be disqualified.
  • Videos that do not meet any of the competition specifications in addition to all its terms and conditions will be disqualified as deemed by the competition organisers.
  • Work must be the contestant’s own original material and comply with all Copyright laws.   In the event that the applicant is not the owner of the rights to the music video or, the music used is not royalty free, but would still like to submit it to the AROLAB STORIES AWARDS ‘21, the applicant is required to obtain a statement which ensures the owner (may it be the musician, the producer or the music label) grants permission to the applicant to send in their work and publicly display it through the AROLAB STORIES AWARDS ‘21 and its connected events and platforms. The signed statement should be attached and send with the Application Form.


  • Fill the Application Form (pre-register here to receive the Application Form) and send it (in PDF format) all together with the video (in the 2 required formats) to by using applications such as Filemail or Wetransfer.
  • Deadline for submission is 1th December 2021 - 11:59pm CEST. Any videos submitted after the deadline will be disqualified.

F.1) Duration

  • Total duration of the video between 45 and 54 seconds.

F.2) How to call the archive

If there is only one author the file name always includes the author's last name, if there is a group of authors the file name includes the name of the group of directors. Look at the examples below.

F.3) Landscape format 16:9

  • Title: in the Horizontal format, the file name must have the first letter H followed by the underscore and surname of the director or group of directors.
  • Landscape format: 16:9
  • Definition : HD
  • Format: h264 codec compression in format: .mov or .mp4
  • Resolution: 1080p1920x1080 / 720p 1280x720
  • Size file: minimum 40 MB, maximum 128MB

    Video file name

  • One single author: H_author'
  • Author groups:

F.4) Vertical format

  • Title: in the Vertical format, the file name must have the first letter V followed by underscore and the surname of the director or group of directors.
  • Vertical format: 9:16
  • Definition : HD
  • Format: h264 codec compression in format: .mov or .mp4
  • Resolution: 1080p1920x1080 / 720p 1280x720
  • Size file: minimum 40 MB, maximum 128MB

  • One single author: V_author'
  • Author groups:

F.5) Position and time placement of the AROLAB STORIES BY logo in the work

The file logo: the AROLAB STORIES BY (Receive this logo and all the documents to participate to the contest by pre-registering here) must appear at some point in the video in a centred manner and be present for a time span of at least 2 seconds. The logo must keep its original version with no alterations within one of the two options in black or white.

In case the AROLAB STORIES BY logo is not integrated by the director/s in the finished work, it must be placed in a neutral way (white background, black writing) for a period of no less than 2 seconds before the beginning or at the end of the video.

F.6) Director’s Title Placement with the AROLAB STORIES BY logo:

The name(s) of the director(s) must also appear in a centred, clear and readable manner at some point in the video under the format AROLAB STORIE by: NAME/S SURNAME/S

Take into account the size of this logo so that it is correctly centred and dimensioned in both horizontal and vertical formats of the video.


All submissions will be shortlisted and evaluated by the selected judging panel by their creativity and how effectively they communicate their message.

If the entries received do not meet the jury's standards, AROLAB Organic may cancel the competition without notice and publish the verdict on the official awards website: Any decision of the committee are unappealable.

The judging panel of the AROLAB STORIES AWARDS '21 is composed of:

  • Luca Lancini, architect, AROLAB Organic founder
  • Federica de Giacomo, director and writer, winner of the David di Donatello, as best documentary at the Venice Film Festival in 2016
  • Ulf Sommer, musical, author and director
  • Jorge Stasny, director of commercials and documentaries


The people's jury will decide the winners. From September 13 to September 27, AROLAB Organic will promote between three and six finalists (depending on the quality of the work received) on its social networks and publish them in the feed of AROLAB Organic's official Instagram account.

For two weeks, the general public can express their preference by putting their likes to the video they prefer in the feed of AROLAB Organic's official Instagram account. The last day to vote is going to be September 27, 2021 - 11:59pm CEST

The three videos that receive the most likes will be the three winners. All of them will be promoted in the company's marketing campaigns and in the various printed and virtual media using an international press release. If the organization discovers that the likes obtained come from fake, bought, or non-organically received profiles, the finalist may be disqualified.

The video that has received the most likes will also receive a cash prize of 3,000 euros and its director, or the representative of the group if participating as a group, will be part of the jury of next year's AROLAB STORIES AWARDS ’22.

The winning director, or the winning group representative, will be contacted at the email address indicated in the Application Form to send, via email: their postal address, the financial data, and their bank account details. AROLAB organic will deliver, to him, the monetary award by bank transfer within seven days.


By entering the contest the participants authorize the organization:

  • to the diffusion, distribution, exhibition, public communication, dissemination, and reproduction without compensation of the submitted videos, the web, and the current and future channels of AROLAB Organic.
  • to modify the format (square, horizontal, vertical) and duration of all the videos participating in the competition for commercial or communication purposes.
  • participants may not use, publish or promote the videos they have submitted to participate in the competition before ASA '21 announces the awards finalists.
  • at the end of the competition, after ASA'21 announces the winners, all non-finalists will be free to use, promote and publish their videos, but with the AROLAB STORIES logo removed.
  • on the other hand, the official finalists will be free to use, promote and publish their videos, using the AROLAB STORIES logo and tagging @arolaborganic  #arolabstoriesawards and #videoawards .


In compliance with the provisions of Law 15/1999, of December 13, Protection of Personal Data, Law 34/2002, of July 11, Services of the information society and electronic commerce and other provisions issued in its development, the participants of the contest are informed that the personal data voluntarily provided during the registration process of the contest, which states as their property (including mobile phone and email), will be incorporated into the corresponding file of the organization, authorizing their processing (by itself or through a third party acting as a processor) for their use in connection with the development of this competition, as well as for sending information regarding activities and projects carried out by the organization (via mail, email, telephone, and SMS). The participant is informed of his right of opposition, access, rectification, and cancellation of his data in the terms provided by law. He may exercise his rights by writing a letter to the organization at the following address: AROLAB Organic, calle Diputación 262, 08007, Barcelona.

The delivery of personal data in the registration form for the contest is optional, but the refusal to provide it has the consequence of not participating in the awards.

The participant guarantees that the personal data provided to the organization for this promotion is truthful, and is responsible for communicating any changes regarding this data to the organization of the Awards.

The participants also authorize the organization to use their name and image for advertising or in communication campaigns, both written and electronic, developed or carried out to disseminate the results of the competition. The organization, in any case, will use the data for commercial purposes.


This competition and its rules are regulated by the Spanish law and any dispute related therewith or the competition will be resolved by the courts of Barcelona.


Prizes are subjected to the Law 35/2006 on the Spanish income tax the Income; the Royal Decree No 439/2007 of March 30, by which the Regulation of the Income Tax of Physical People is approved; The Law 13/2011, of May 27, regarding Game Regulation; The Royal Decree 3059/1966 of December 1, through which the Revised Text of Tax Rates and other related provisions are approved and passed in their development so that, if necessary, shall be allocated to the organization the carrying out of the payment on account or practicing the appropriate retention.


As the owner of the AROLAB Organic, Wu Wei Architecture SL is exempted from any liability that may arise from any existing errors in the data provided by the winners, inaccuracies thereof or impossibility of identification. Similarly, they will be exempt from liability in case of failed delivery of any prize whenever this is due to causes beyond their control or lack of diligence by the winner.

Wu Wei Architecture SL, as the owner of the AROLAB Organic, is not responsible for using images of minors in the videos participating, as each participant must obtain the permits and mandatory consent from parents or tutors thereof. This does not prevent the use of a child's image that may be considered inappropriate from being penalized by the organization.


Participation in this competition implies acceptance of these terms in full.

The organization reserves the right to interpret, or modify the submission rules of this contest at any time and even cancel or void the awards, provided that there are justified grounds for taking such a decision. In any case, Wu Wei Architecture SL, as the owner of the AROLAB Organic, commits to communicating via this website the modified terms, or the annulment of the competition as a whole, so that all participants will have access to the information.


ASA ‘21 and its respective officers, employees and agents have no liability for any costs, losses or damages of any kind, which you may incur, arising whether directly or indirectly. This applies in relation to or in connection with any material and/or information supplied by the contestant in connection with the competition; and as a consequence of removing any material and/or information from the competition.

The contestant will at all times indemnify and keep indemnified ASA ‘21 and its respective officers, employees and agents (in this paragraph referred to as "those indemnified") from and against any loss (including reasonable legal costs and expenses) or liability incurred by any of those indemnified arising from any claim, demand, suit, action or proceeding by any person against any of those indemnified where such loss or liability arose out of, in connection with or in respect of any breach of these terms and conditions by the contestant; and publication of or distribution of the material and/or information supplied by the contestant.

These terms and conditions may be amended, deleted or added to from time to time at the discretion of the competition organisers. Any revised terms and conditions will be published on the website in a timely manner. By submitting the video (in two formats) and the Application Form, using applications such us Filemail or Wetransfer, the contestant agrees to the full terms and conditions – so please read, all of them, carefully.
